Alright! I'm just going to take this quick moment to pat myself on the back and say, "Holy shit, I made it to 2021 without skipping any months between journal entries!" Yeah, I know it's not some great achievement, but at least it's something that I'm trying to get into the habit of doing. This past year has been crazy, to understate the obvious, and just the sense of 'Oh hey! I didn't forget this time!' kind of makes me feel better, lol. My Christmas was quiet, but very pleasing as my family and I watched movies, played video games, and enjoyed each other's company. Despite being in lockdown throughout the holidays, my family and I made the best of what we could do. Which meant extra quality time. My child and I have begun doing drawing challenges every day to get some practice in and encourage the creativity to start flowing out of our brains. Hahaha, I completely jinxed myself in the last post by stating that I would not forget to update my journal and wouldn't you know it, I do... And only remembered 5 days before freakin' Christmas to boot! I can't believe we're this close to Christmas already. The first half of December 2020 has flashed by so quick. Every single school day was a themed day so my kid and I were always planning for the following day's outfit. Some days she was allowed to bring a plush toy from home. Other times, she was allowed to bring her (handmade) Elf on the Shelf, Buttercup. Needless to say, this month of classes were by far her most favourite. Especially the last week of classes since her teacher decided not to give them homework. The last day of classes though were tough on me, and I'll tell you why; Our temperatures dropped from -20°C for most of the week to -30°C that day (these temps aren't including the windshield, so it felt like -40°C) and my nose couldn't handle it.
